Poll Results

It seems that you all want more picture stories.  So I'll try to focus on doing those a little more -- they take a bit of time, not least of which is dedicated to finding a suitable set of pictures for a semi-decent story.  That said, if any of you find a set of pictures you'd like to see featured in a story, post a link in the comments section, and I'll give it a look.

Also, if you all have ideas about specific stories you'd like to see, I'm open to suggestions.  Like I've said previously, I only have a few fleshed-out ideas in this universe, so I'll eventually run out.  Either way, I'll keep posting something, even if it's only a slight variation on an existing story/caption/pictory.

Again, thanks for your participation in the poll.  It's greatly appreciated, and I hope you continue to visit this blog.

A change of scenery can sometimes make all the difference in the world.

I just wanted to thank all of you who are participating in the poll.  It will prove to be quite useful as I try to focus my time on providing you all with what you want to see.  In addition, I want to encourage you to comment on my posts -- criticism or praise, it doesn't matter.  I only ask that if you do criticize, be specific about what doesn't work so I can fix it in the future.

Again, thanks to all of you for visiting this blog, and I hope you enjoy reading and seeing my work as much as I enjoy making it.

What is "normal" anyway?

A New Poll

As always, I'm trying to get a feel for what people want to see.  To that end, I decided to simply ask what you all wanted to see more of.  So, if you frequent this blog, take a few seconds to participate in  the poll in the top right corner.  Hopefully, that will give me an idea of where you all want this blog to go.  Thanks in advance for your participation.  Oh, if you pick "something else," feel free to post what you'd like to see in the comments section of this post.

To Newcomers

I've noticed a spike in pageviews over the last couple of days (no doubt due to being put on the links page at Fictionmania), and I just wanted to invite all of the newcomers to take a look at through the archive.  It should be in the top right corner, with titles like "Post-Great Change," "Pre-Great Change," "Captions," and "Pictories."  It can provide some context for the newer captions which you've probably seen on the latest page, and I think a lot of that is better work, anyway.   So, thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy making it (though free time, and thus new work, has been scarce the last couple of days).

While the wife is away, the boi will play...

I finished this caption a while back (it was actually one of the first I did), but I wasn't terribly happy with the alteration of the picture.  So, I recently went back into it, and touched it up.

Okay, I think I have everything updated. Caption page is current. Made a page to house my pictories. Updated a few links. Started my favorite stories page out with a few links. And populated my page dedicated to my other stories. Whew. That was a lot of copying and pasting, linking, and organizing.  I also added a little rating system to each post so you all can leave easy feedback.  The ratings are: Great, Good, Average, Bad, and Horrible.  So, if you have an opinion on anything I post here, take a couple of seconds and rate it.

Bois Gone Wild

I've been working on this one for a few days. I hope you all enjoy it.

I originally was going to do a calendar with these naughty bois, but I figured I'd do a Girls Gone Wild parody instead. I'm well aware that it's probably not even close to what they do (I've never actually seen any of their videos -- just their late-night commercials), but that was the inspiration.

And thanks to those of you who have linked to this blog on your own sites. I try to return the favor when I see traffic from another site, but let me know if you do link to the OBU, and I'll go ahead and throw your link up on my link list as well.

Still Trying to Be a Man

Sorry if the last few pictures haven't been up to my usual standard, but I've been using some photos which I altered early on, and just captioning them.  I think they're acceptable, but I know they're probably not as good as I could do.  I've just been busy lately, and I'm working on a pretty big caption series which has been taking a little more of my spare time than I had anticipated.  So, hopefully you all will enjoy this one.

A Strange Thought for a Boi

I've had this picture done for a while, but I hadn't captioned it.  So, I wrote a little caption tonight, and here it is.  Enjoy.

Over 10,000 served....

Just noticed that we've broken 10,000 pageviews, and I figured I'd make a post about it.  Thanks to all of you who continue to visit, those of you who comment, and, of course, those who have followed this blog.  Your support is much appreciated.

No Laughing Matter

I love this picture, and I've had it done for a while now.  I just hadn't posted it because I'm not terribly fond of the caption -- I wanted to alter the object being licked a bit, but I never could get it to look quite right, so I just went with the original.  Either way, cute photo, and a passable caption.  Enjoy.

Poll Results

It seems that "Football Star" narrowly beat out "Frat Bois," "David Jones..." and the captions as your favorites. So, I'll go back, re-read it, and try to replicate that tone. Thanks to all of you who responded!

Sorry that the updates haven't been as regular in the last week. It's a combination of being really swamped at work (yes, I have a real job!) and trying to work on longer caption stories. Hopefully work will settle down, and I can get back to my one post a day schedule soonish.

One Day at a Time

I did this one today, and I'm actually happiest with the title page. It's a cute little story though. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm not sure why, but this slideshow was removed from slideshare because someone reported it as inappropriate. I checked the terms of use, and I don't think I violated them. However, if it gets removed again, I probably won't re-upload or repost. So, if you want to re-read it, download as soon as possible. If it does get removed, feel free to contact me, and I'll just email you the slideshow.

This is my second attempt at a pictory, and, I think it turned out okay. I happen to like my previous effort "A Different Set of Skills" a little better, but to each her own, I suppose. Either way, I'd like to get some feedback on either (or both) so I can maybe do better next time. Anyway, here it is:

The Polls are Open!

Lately, I've been trying to figure out what works about my writing style, and what doesn't.  To that end, I have put up a new poll (the top right of the home page) asking which story is your favorite.  As most of the stories have subtle variations in style, this will help me figure out what you all think, and I can fine tune my style a little better.

That said, feel free to put any reviews of these stories either in the comments section for each individual post or here.  Like I said, I'm eager to become a better writer, and your comments, reviews, and answers to the poll can be an invaluable resource towards that aim.

Thanks in advance for your participation and, of course, for even coming to my blog at all.  My ultimate goal is to entertain you, and I've had a much greater response already (in pageviews, comments, and followers) than I could have rightly expected.  So, thanks again, and have fun.

A Lone Boi

I've had this one done for a while, but haven't had a chance to post it until now.

A Different Set of Skills

This is my first effort at a multi-caption picture story, or as I'm going to call it, a pictory. My inspiration is Rebecca Molay's work over at Rebecca's World (There's a link in my link's section to your right). Her work is quite a bit better than mine, but I'm reasonably happy with this first effort. In this pictory, we follow Edgar Prince as he goes from an inept, misogynistic executive who has skated by on his masculine charm to being a secretary for a former rival. Hope you enjoy this, as it took me a little while to do.
